My first exposure to Vocaloid was when I was 12 years old, through a cover of Lost One's Weeping by Neru, which I related to as an angsty kid struggling in school. However, I didn't look further into Vocaloid as a whole until later that year, when I became hooked on songs like Outer Science by Jin and A Tale of Six Trillion Years and A Night by kemu. Since then, Vocaloid has been one of my biggest loves in this life... I love the community, and the creativity, and I love all of the voicebanks that have been made! There's so much to Vocaloid and I feel like anyone can find something from it that they really love. I just happen to love most of it.
I have always been especially fond of Vocaloid songs as mediums to tell stories. One of my gateways into Vocaloid was Jin's Kagerou Project and the related Mekakucity Actors anime, and I got very interested in other Vocaloid story-telling projects from the early 2010s as a result, as you may see from other parts of this site. This is probably my biggest source of Vocaloid nostalgia. I miss Vocaloid series. My other biggest love is old (~2008-2012) UTAUs. They are very special to me.
(*Please note: I will sometimes use Vocaloid as a blanket term on these pages. Vsynth just lacks the same ring to it, and I'm oooooooold, I'm too used to calling it Vocaloid. Do not get mad at me.)
